Ella Mai, Burna Boy & Nao Receive Nominations For 2020 Grammy Awards

The Grammys have revealed the nominations for their 2020 awards and two of the UK’s most talented songstresses have been acknowledged.

Ella Mai has been making major waves across the pond and the south London artist is in the running for ‘Best R&B Album’ at the 2020 Grammys for her self-titled album. Mai is up against the likes of BJ the Chicago Kid, Lucky Daye, PJ Morton and Andersoon .Paak.

East London’s very own Nao has also received a nomination in the ‘Best Urban Contemporary Album’ category against Steve Lacy, Lizzo, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Jessie Reyez. Fellow east Londoner Labrinth has also landed a whopping five Grammy nominations for co-writing and co-producting Beyoncé’s “Spirit from the Lion King album.

The Grammys have also nominated Nigeria’s Burna Boy for his African Giant album in the ‘Best World Music Album’ category.

Also receiving nominations are a number of U.S. rap stars such as J.Cole, Nipsey Hussle, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Lil Nas X and many more.

The winners will be revealed during the award ceremony which is due to take place on January 27th 2020 in Los Angeles.
