Fresh Island Festival took place again on the Isle of Pag in Croatia this month, with young people from across Europe flocking to the beach to party.
If you missed out, thankfully GRM Daily were in attendance to fill you in on everything you missed out on. With the likes of Giggs, Young Thug and French Montana rolling through, this was always set to be a madness.
Here’s five of the maddest moments from the festival that you missed. Trust us, you’re going to want to be rolling to Croatia next year!
Giggs shut down our pool party
We were lucky enough to host our own pool party during the week, taking over Papaya club and bringing through the one and only Hollowman to shut it down. Giggs proved that whether he’s in South London, or halfway across the world, songs like “Talkin The Hardest”, “Whipping Excursion” and “KMT” all ring off. He even brought out his boys Suspect and Yung Fume to share the stage with him. Just look at that crowd reaction!
Tion Wayne & Kojo Funds surprise appearance
Our friends over at Noisey were holding down their own stage at Fresh Island Festival, but unfortunately one of their headliners, Lady Leshurr, couldn’t make it through. Thankfully there was time to bring in a replacement – or two – with a little helping hand. We had Tion Wayne and Kojo Funds over in Croatia to shoot their new video “I’m On”, so they were more than happy to fill in on stage too.
French Montana brought out Krept & Konan
Although they had their own headline set (which they bodied, by the way), it was a real moment went New York rapper French Montana brought out Krept and Konan. They performed their huge “Don’t Waste My Time” remix, which exploded in the crowd, proving that this one is a UK classic banger.
Westwood’s residency
Tim Westwood is regular at Fresh Island Festival and the big dog was there again in 2017 to hold things down across the week. He had his own pool party, and sat down with all of the artists there too. One highlight has to be this interview with Giggs, which has the pair sharing a zoot and talking that talk after a heavy night.
The boat parties

Not only does the festival take place across the incredible Zrce beach, it also takes place out at sea. There’s a huge number of boat parties that happened across the week, shining a spotlight on specific genres like rap, R&B, and everything else in between. There’s nothing like catching a vibe out on the big blue.
