1. Taylor Swift fired shots at Kanye following his TLOP track “Famous”

As I’m sure you would’ve heard, on Kanye’s most recent album release ‘The Life of Pablo’ (review can be found here) he made claims that him and T.Swift could still have sex after all the publicity Kanye gave her following his MTV VMA stunt a couple years back…

The “Shake It Off” singer responded during her acceptance speech after winning Album of the Year by saying, “As the first woman to win album of the year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there: there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going. You’ll look around and you’ll know it was you and the people who love you who put you there and that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”

2. Kendrick Lamar stole the show with his incredible performance

An electric performance from K.Dot of his hit songs “Blacker The Berry”, “Alright” and the third instalment of his “Untitled” series received a standing ovation at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. A powerful sight, Kendrick showcased his ability as an entertainer in front of a prison-themed set, captivating the star-studded audience. You can watch Kendrick’s performance here.

3. *ANOTHER ONE* (Khaled voice)
Kendrick Lamar picked up 4 deserved Grammys

The Compton rapper picked up an impressive 4 Grammy haul for his latest album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’. K.Dot won Best Rap Album (To Pimp A Butterfly), Best Rap Sung Collaboration (These Walls ft Bilal, Anna Wise & Thundercat), Best Rap Performance (Alright) and Best Music Video (Taylor Swift ft Kendrick Lamar – Bad Blood). Many expected Kendrick to pull off more wins from his incredible 11 nominations, with his loss to Taylor Swift in the Album of the Year category one of the more controversial nods of the evening.

4. Trinidad James actually won a Grammy

Okay, so, technically it was Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars who won the award – BUT, Def Jam rapper Trinidad James is a credited songwriter on the Record of the Year. Ronson even tweeted after the ceremony to say his thanks.

5. Justin Bieber won his first Grammy

Despite being somewhat of a veteran of the music industry at this point, Justin Bieber was yet to win a Grammy before last night, despite previous nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album in 2011. Along with Diplo and Jack U, Bieber won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording. Bieber also gave a great performance of the track, along with his UK Number 1 single “Love Yourself”.

6. Lady Gaga gave an… interesting… tribute to the late David Bowie

Gaga performed a medley of Bowie songs in collaboration with Intel and Nile Rodgers. Wearing some traditional Bowie style costumes, the “Paparazzi” singer raised a few questioning eyebrows as she managed to capture the essence of David Bowie in a way that can only be believed when watched.
