Festival season is currently in full swing as we begin to soak in the limited rays that shine on our shores. Victoria Park in Hackney will once again play host to Lovebox Festival this year, with a line-up rivalling the best of festivals. With this in mind, we thought we’d round up some of the acts you have to catch at Lovebox.

Kano

Kano’s return to music has been a huge success, with his album Made In The Manor firmly cementing itself as a UK classic. Tracks such as 3 Wheel-ups and Garage Skank have been a huge success at shows and festivals for the east London artist. It’s a chance to see a legend doing what he does best, what’s not to like?

Big Narstie

The BDL general is always a massive presence on stage, with his ad-libs recycled by the majority of the UK on a daily basis. Not only that, but he also has a number of bangers that light up a festival. A must see.

Rude Kid

One of the best producers to have ever come out of our scene, Rude Kid is known to shut down festivals. Producing arguably the most coveted instrumental of the last 12 months – “One Take” – he has already done dances at both Parklife and Glastonbury this summer. So if you’re looking for energy, be sure to check out his set.

Giggs

The SN1 general has been involved in the majority of bangers in the last 12 months, building a case up for artist of the year. Well known for his deep voiced, slow tempo rap, he has switched it up on occasion, jumping on high speed grime tracks. Giggs spreads through generations and always guarantees a hard set.

Stormzy

I don’t think too much has to be said for this man here. Stormzy has got the country on lock at the moment, performing and shutting down at almost EVERY festival you can think of. With a vault of checkmate tracks, the Wicked Skengman is certain to attract a huge crowd and bring you an unrivalled energy. Enough said, really.

Mikill Pane

Our very own TBC Podcast host Mikill will be taking to the stage at Lovebox in a few weeks. Known for his old school style of rapping, he offers a uniqueness that is hard to come by in the UK. If you’re looking for something less aggressive and more humorous, Mikill is your man for sure.

Preditah

Again, we have another legendary UK grime producer, this time hailing from Birmingham. Preditah is the mastermind behind a number of key instrumentals in the game, both past and present. A veteran on the festival scene, he holds all the keys to shutting down a set – a definite.

Grizzy & MDargg

This is one I’m very much looking forward to seeing. With Grizzy currently in the big bin, he’s been starving the scene of his ad-libs and bangers. His release from the can comes just in time for him to touch the stage, which will be a great moment. MDargg has done a fantastic job of holding it down for 150 in his absence, but it’ll be good to see the duo back together.

Lovebox Festival runs from July 15th-July 16th in Victoria Park – make sure you grab your tickets here.
