Unusual but not unheard of, BBC 1xtra host and former artist A Dot has been given a brand new role as A&R consultant for Parlophone Records.
A few years back Amplify Dot signed as a well respected MC to the very same label and created underground hits with the likes of Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott. However she made the major career move into sourcing new music rather than making it in 2014 by joining BBC 1xtra as a presenter in June, and now Parlophone.
Parlophone is home to the likes of Tinie Tempha, Idris Elba, Lily Allen and Coldplay.
Discussing the appointment, Parlophone have said: “A.Dot will be an excellent addition to the Parlophone A&R team. She’s a seriously talented musician in her own right and her flair for recognising credible new music is second to none.”
