Biography

Scorcher (real name Tayo Jarrett) is a grime MC and producer from North London. Like most emcees, Scorcher began his journey by working his way through the underground ranks. He and fellow emcees/friends Ghetts, Wretch32 and Devlin established ‘The Movement’ crew in 2006 . This was a group of like-minded lyricists who collaborated together to practice their trade together. Fast forward to 2012 he is now signed to Universal’s Geffen Records and has gone from strength to strength.

Scorcher recently said: “I just try and find style in everything I do… If I’m not in the studio, even if I’m at the cinema, watching the boxing, or at home catching up with Miami Ink, bowling, or weighing up which Superbike to get next, I’m always thinking of delivering class to an occasion. I would like to be seen as a timeless and versatile artist”.
