As if Birdman isn’t getting himself into enough hassle recently, he is now suing Jay-Z’s TIDAL for $50 million for streaming Lil Wayne’s “Free Weezy Album”, reports from TMZ show. Birdman believes his label Cash Money owns all of the rights to Wayne’s music and that the deal with TIDAL was illegal, although TIDAL disagrees. They claim Wayne gave them full permission to stream the album in return for Wayne receiving part ownership of the company, whereas Cash Money claims that streaming the album is “a desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service.” Shots fired.
