Ultralight Beam collaborator and Chicago artist Chance The Rapper premiered new track “Blessings” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night.

Chance announced the project on April 30th through his twitter, but failed to reveal the release date – instead, he left that duty to popular talk-show host Jimmy Fallon, who appeased Chance’s excited fans by saying Chano’s third mixtape will released on May 13th.

The sombre track, “Blessings”, was supported by Jamila Woods, Byron Louis Cage, The Social Experiment and a backing choir. Chance’s verses on this song are insightful and poetically delivered. A surprising single, perhaps, but I reckon it’ll sit really nicely on a project that is already bound to include “Angels” featuring Saba and “Somewhere in Paradise” featuring Jeremih and R. Kelly. Chance also hinted at Kanye West’s contribution to the free album during his standout verse on the intro track to Kanye’s ‘The Life of Pablo’ – are you starting to understand how incredible this project could be, yet?!

I, for one, couldn’t be any more excited for #Chance3 – only a week to go!
