The much-loved platform for grime and rap music in the UK, Channel U, is set to make a big return in November!
To premiere Against All Odds – a film which explores the rise of grime – Channel U will go live on its original satellite TV channel 385 on November 13. The film has been directed and produced by Nicky Walker and Femi Oyeniran and stars big names such as D Double E, Ghetts Jammer and more.
“For us as kids, Channel U was the greatest TV channel on Earth, so for us to be able to bring it back is important,” Femi said when speaking to Radio 1 Newsbeat.
“It was the first broadcast platform for every MC, and for us as kids, it was the first time we saw these stars on screen.”
The return of Channel U comes just over two years after the pioneering channel went off air after 15 years.
In addition to premiering Against All Odds, the channel will display a selection of classic shows and grime videos on November 13 – providing us all with a dose of nostalgia.
