Popular London club Dance Tunnel is set to close its doors for good in August over licensing issues.
In a statement on their Facebook page, they site the impossible licensing climate in Hackney as the main reason for their closure.
Despite being known for their early closure time of 3am, it seems as if even that wasn’t enough to sway Hackney council – who have looked to clamp down on late night events.
Having played host to many grime events since it’s opening back in 2012, it’s a venue that will be sorely missed by revellers and DJs alike.
But, it once again stresses the struggles and battles between clubs and local councils, with closures a regular occurrence.
Will the trend continue? We definitely hope not.
