Copying and stealing ideas is common in the world of rap and now there is speculation that Eminem may have stolen the concept for his latest album from a Dundee-hailing rapper.

Zee the Dungeonous – real name Darren Stewart – has raised questions about the similarities between his material and Eminem’s newest body of work.

Back in 2015, Zee released a single entitled “Music To Be Murdered By” which is the exact title of Eminem’s new album. It has also been reported that the album arrived exactly five years after the release of the single. Zee the Dungeonous also claims samples of Alfred Hitchcock which were used on his 2015 LP are also present on Eminem’s album.

The British rapper himself has stated that it could just be a number of coincidences but what gives the stealing claims more weight is the fact that Zee The Dungeonous has collaborated with Bizarre – a member of Eminem’s D12 group – which possibly could have put the Dundee MC on Em’s radar.

“I had a guest feature from Bizarre on my album, who I met after a concert in Glasgow in 2008, which I released two years before Music to be Murdered By which was called Murder Zee Wrote,” Zee said on his collab with Bizarre.

“We have our connections to D12 and it doesn’t put it too far out of the realm of possibility that Eminem, through Bizarre, heard my track, dug for the sample I used, and took the concept.”

He also added: “I’ve tweeted Eminem about it and also contacted Bizarre. I wouldn’t say I was annoyed, if it’s straight-up coincidence then I would be amazed.”

However, the numerous connections and similarities have got people asking if it is all just one big coincidence or if Eminem actually did steal the concept from Zee The Dungeonous.
