After the tropical storm Erica devastated the island of Dominica last month, setting the country back 20 years by leaving over 80% of the island without essential supplies, including water and electricity, and taking the lives of at least 80 people, a few key figures in the UK music industry have set up the initiative “Doing It For Dominica”.

A cause close to their hearts, with many holding heritage links to the island, the initiative has put together a fundraising evening with the support of the Dominica High Commission to raise money for the relief effort at Camden’s infamous Jazz Cafe on Sunday 11th October.

With live music, comedy, exclusive DJ sets and some of the UK’s biggest names in attendance, including Bashy, Naughty Boy, 1Xtra’s DJ Ace and footballer Jermain Defoe amongst many others, this is sure to be a great night for a great cause.

Ticket donations are £20 in advance and are available from the Jazz Cafe Box Office here.

The Doing It For Dominica team will also be taking collections of some of the most urgently needed items at the event to be sent to Dominica. These include children’s shoes & books, toiletries, PC’s & laptops, cleaning products & more. If you would be interested in helping with any donations email [email protected] for more information.
