Lucasfilm have announced that they’ve given Donald Glover his biggest on-screen role yet. Also known as Childish Gambino, the rapper-come-actor has been cast as Lando Calrissian in an upcoming Star Wars spinoff about the young Han Solo.

Glover joins Alden Ehrenreich (set to play Han Solo) as the only named cast members of the film so far, which itself doesn’t even have a title. The film will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller who directed The Lego Movie and the 21 Jump Street films.

Lucasfilm made the announcement on Friday, and Donald Glover was soon trending on Facebook. Lord and Miller said, “We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us. These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologise to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”

The new film is scheduled for release in 2018, a year after Episode VIII will be released, and two years after Star Wars Rogue One which is out this winter.
