Drake’s surprise mixtape has been the talk of the internet for the past week, and to be honest we’re loving it. The singer is celebrating today after landing the top of the Billboard charts with the project.
The mixtape which is titled ‘If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late’, sold an impressive 535,000 copies in it’s first full three days out!
Word on the street is that the surprise release was a shade towards YMCMB and Birdman. It was actually a power play from Drake to fulfil his rumoured four-album contract with YMCMB. The tape’s name apparently could’ve been a shot at Birdman as in, “If you’re reading this it’s too late because the album’s out”. In fact Drake also never mentioned Birdman or YMCMB in his handwritten Thank You’s on the album.
