No we couldn’t make this up even if we wanted to! A duck named Star who has become increasingly popular with the locals due to his drinking habits got into a drunken altercation with a dog (really?).
According to the Cheddar Valley Gazette, the booze loving bird flew into a bit of bother when his owners very own dog Meggie snapped after growing tired of his drunken antics.
Owner Bernie, a former scuba diving instructor, relived the experience for us: “Star pushed his luck too far and Meggie snapped, splitting Star’s bottom beak right down the middle. He gave her a stare, then promptly stood on her back. It was not pretty and not nice. We were so scared we would lose Star.”
After taking Star to the vets, he is now making a speedy recovery and all is well in the land of boozed up ducks as the two will soon again be seen performing on the streets to raise money for charity (yes, because they are a singing duo too).
One word for this.. quackers!
