King of the tracksuit mafia laced up in his Air Max’s, Skepta having his own release of Nike trainers, following in the footsteps (pardon the pun) of Michael Jordan, Drizzy and even Kanye (once upon a time), was something we all anticipated. Now Skepta has officially announced that he has indeed released his own pair, labelled the Blacklisted Air Max BW.
In his initial Instagram announcement post, Skeppy refers back to a trip he took last year to the Nike HQ in Portland, Oregon and had a meeting with the senior designer about the trainers – *insert a “we told you so” here*. 49 weeks ago when we noticed Skep first uploaded a picture of the Nike HQ in Oregon and then another with the NSW senior designer at the HQ (which you can see below), we had a sneaky feeling that we would be seeing Skepta to launch his own Nike hybrid – and were swiftly contacted by Nike to remove the post (sad ting) but we’re just happy that the dream has become a reality!
