Budget airline Norwegian Airways today announced incredible plans to slash flight prices.
Bjorn Kjos, the chief executive of Norwegian Airways, suggested that due to their investment in a new aircraft that would be cheaper to run and more fuel efficient, they’d be able to cut the cost of travel from UK to New York by 50%- costing as little as £57.
He said, “The Boeing 737MAX has a very modern engine, which means it can go for a longer distance. We’ll also be flying to secondary airports in New York (not JFK). That means we don’t pay as much and can charge cheaper fares”
Holiday goers can save a pretty penny by getting the flight from Edinburgh in 2017. However they’ll need to fork out extra cash for their in-flight meal, and bag check-in.
Still, for a round trip to America costing just over £100, this is going to open a lot of doors for us ordinary people. Take that Brexit!
