Reactions to Jay Z’s 4:44 album are coming in thick and fast, with Future being the latest star to have a message for Jay following interpretations of some lyrics from the album.
You’ve probably either listened to the album by now, or read through the countless posts on Instagram of the lyrics, and are aware of the send for Future on opening track “Kill Jay-Z”. Jay raps, “I don’t even know what you woulda done, In the future, other niggas playin’ football with your son,” referencing Future’s ex Ciara’s current relationship with American football player Russell Wilson, who is often photographed with Future and Ciara’s baby son, who happens to be also named Future.
Well, Future seems to have retaliated to the send last night, posting a picture to Snapchat holding a stack of money to his ear. This seems to be a nod to the track “The Story of O.J” on 4:44 that has the lyrics, “You’re on the Gram holding money to your ear, there’s a disconnect, we don’t call that money over here”. Seems like Future isn’t taking much notice of Jay’s observation however, by posting the exact kind of picture Jay spoke on. He captioned it “U aint got the juice like that. MOOD”.
Snoop Dogg has also come through with comments on the album, saying yesterday, “I want to shoot a shoutout to Jay Z, just dropped another motherfucking hot album, 4:44,” he continued, “But you know what, I don’t got TIDAL, so a nigga had to bootleg it to me. I’m on iTunes and shit, I don’t understand this. Y’all got to explain that to me. I went to iTunes looking for his album and I couldn’t find it but my homie had to send it to me. But shoutout to JAY-Z, my nigga. He did it again.” Snoop posted a video to social media with his comments. He’ll be happy to know 4:44 is supposedly meant to available on iTunes and streaming services from next week.
