Ghetts has announced a new event called Ghettsibition which coincides with the release of his new project due later this month.

The MC will be hosting the event described as a Q&A at Kachette in East London and special guest Akala will also be joining the festivities.

Described as an “All Day Event”, everyone is free to attend the exhibition on the 14th of September until 5pm. From 7pm however, Ghetts official website writes that a party event will begin which fans are invited to win the chance to attend by entering a ballot which can be found here.

Little details about the event have been released at this point but the artistic and creative aesthetics of the promo image and of Ghetts’ recent song visuals suggest a celebration of selfhood and black identity.

Akala joins Ghetts after a critically acclaimed show this year at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in West London and the May release of his book Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire.

This month will be busy for the MC with the announcement of this event and the scheduled release of his project Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament. The 17 track project features the conscious and emotional track “Black Rose” featuring Kojey Radical which received stunning black and white visuals earlier this month. Other features on the tracklist include Stefflon Don, Chip, Wretch 32, Donae’o and Little Simz.

Ghettsibition is sure to be an event not to miss if Ghetts’ past performances, including his appearance during D Double E’s set at this year’s Rated Awards is anything to go by.
