This week Parlophone records announced a mysterious new signing of a group called Los Unidades, later to be revealed as a name change for Coldplay. Now the new side project has released an EP entitled Global Citizen.
The EP is tied to the upcoming Mandela 100 event that’ll run this Sunday in Johannesburg; co-curated by Coldplay’s Chris Martin. Jay Z & Beyonce are set to headline alongside Ed Sheeran, Los Unidades and others. The charity EP is headed by Global Citizen, an organisation which aims to “end extreme poverty by 2030”.
With features from Stormzy, Wizkid, Pharrell, Dave Guetta, South African star Cassper Nyovest and more, the EP blends together a mixture of genres and cultures.
