Welcome back to #GRMFreshestOut, the one-stop place for the hottest tunes of right now. In this week’s homegrown edition, our guy Griff as usual has presented the biggest tracks of the week, featuring some of the best newcomers and veterans doing what they do best. As always, competition for a spot on this list has been tough; check in and check out who had the best tunes of the country this week.

Skepta – Back Then

Kicking off this week’s list could be none other than Sir Skepta, who’s year keeps getting better, even when it has appeared that things couldn’t get any better. Plastician liberated a new – well, sort of new – recording from his vault this week, which has Skepta spitting bars over Stish’s noughties classic remix of Mike Jones’ “Still Tippin'”. With yet another incredible release on his hands, ‘Konnichiwa’ couldn’t come any sooner.

Lethal Bizzle ft. Stormzy, Chip, Fuse ODG & Wretch 32 – Fester Skank Remix

After Bizzle’s huge single “Fester Skank” impacted the charts and radio with his quirky bars and a new dance move to boot, it was only a matter of time until it was given the “all-star remix” treatment that our scene loves to do. Bringing along an A-list of wordsmiths with him to the video shoot – namely, Stormzy, Chip, Wretch 32 and Fuse ODG for a touch of afrobeat too – this remix does not disappoint.

Novelist – WAR

Another one of Grime’s current golden boys, Nov has released another bit of audio fire this week. Going in over Jon E Cash’s classic instrumental, he takes things back to the old days with some of his trademark cheeky bars. With pure Grime in his heart and coming through in his delivery, big tings are going to happen for this Lewisham MC.

Nafe Smallz – Smokin

Nafe Smallz, the Luton-repping MC/singer, is developing quite the name for himself as of late. Racking up hundreds of thousands of YouTube views and shutting down events like Pitched Up back in May with an infamous triple reload, his brand of wavy sing-song trap music is set to blow up any minute now. Make sure you don’t miss out on the movement and watch his new video now.

Fekky ft. Skepta – Way Too Much

Premiered on Charlie Sloth’s radio show earlier this week (and subsequently being played repeatedly for the next 15 minutes), it was obvious from the get-go that Fekky has one here. Over some 808-driven production, the pair of MC’s have clear chemistry and both go all the way in. Play this once and be prepared to play it way too much.
