Hatton Garden raid: Eight men appear in court

Over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend one of the biggest jewellery heists worth over £200 million took place, while many were left scratching there heads as to how the gang could pull off such a raid, police have now made a total of 10 arrests.

The Police have also apologised for not attending to the crime scene earlier when a alarm was trigged at the the Safety Deposit Box firm during the robbery on Good Friday (April 3rd).

The Mets ‘Flying Squad’ have been very quiet with the investigation. Since yesterday’s news of the multiple arrests, 8 men have appeared at Westminster Magistrates court and have been held in police custody. Another suspect has been bailed and a further arrest was made this morning, with the accused currently undergoing investigation.

Suspects: Daniel Jones, 58, Terry Perkins, 67, Carl Wood, 58, Paul Reader, 50, William Lincoln, 59, John Collins, 74, Brian Reader, 76, and Hugh Doyle, 48, sketched in the dock (top left to bottom right) all appeared in court charged with involvement in the theft of what the prosecution said was around £10m worth of valuables.

Police stated that they have found a number of expensive items in various properties which have been linked to the robbery.

The men due to appear in Southwark Crown Court on the 4th of June.

While the Police have identified what they consider as the main suspects, detectives are still on investigating the case.
