Lisa Rowland Brasher was named chief executive of Jelly Belly in March by her father Herman. On Saturday, during a family reunion held at her father’s house, Lisa’s husband Dwayne Brasher crushed a man to death with a World War II 1944 model M5 tank.

Herman Rowland Sr. is a collector of military vehicles and stores them in what he calls “The Tank Barn”. Brasher was driving the tank through an open field while the victim, Kevin Wright, sat on the front edge of the tank. As they traveled down a hill Wright lost his balance, fell off the vehicle and landed directly in front of it.

“Our family is grieving over this tragic loss,” Herman Rowland said. “The gentleman involved in this accident was a passionate person, always ready to lend a hand and we shared the same deep-rooted love of history. To have him die so tragically during our family reunion is impossible to comprehend. We are all still in a state of shock.”

The family are cooperating with the investigation as they help Wright’s family to get over their loss.
