Instagram is suffering another global outage; leaving users unable to post content or upload stories.

The issue also appears to be affecting Facebook as users are also unable to post any content to their timelines.

This latest issue comes after several global outages that have occurred this year; with users taking to Twitter and other social media platforms to complain about not being able to use all functions of the app.

Instagram and its parent company Facebook are yet to release a statement on the outage and when it is likely to be resolved.

The news comes days after Facebook announced that WhatsApp and Facebook will have their names changed later this year. A spokesperson for Facebook said, “We want to be clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook”.

Instagram also recently announced new features to filter out cyberbullying and hate speech which will force users to consider the impact of content before they post it.

The head of Instagram said in a statement, “This intervention gives people a chance to reflect and undo their comment and prevents the recipient from receiving the harmful comment notification”.
