Jay Z’s Roc Nation has found itself in hot water after Prince’s record label is suing for copyright infringement, claiming Tidal has been illegally streaming nearly the entirety of the late-musicians catalog.

Back in 2015, Prince withdrew all his music from streaming sites, but struck a deal with Tidal for Prince’s 38th studio-album HITnRUN Phase One.

In June this year, Tidal added 15 other Prince albums to their site, two months after his death and NPG are now accusing Roc Nation of exploiting many copyrighted Prince works in addition to the works that comprise the Hit N Run: Phase 1 album.

Jay Z was allegedly given written permission to stream the entirety of his musical collection, but Roc Nation representatives provided no evidence of that.

No dollar amount was specified in the claims.

The trial continues….
