Camden’s Jimothy Lacoste has finally released his long-awaited debut album, The Safeway.

In recent years, the north London DIY artist has treated us to a number of fun and quirky singles and his first ever LP keeps in line with his playful nature.

Clocking in at just under an hour in length, The Safeway is an extensive body of work filled with Jimothy’s retro and laid-back sound. Looking at the tracklist, the thing that stands out the most is the repetition of “getting” in the titles but the tracklist also reveals that there are no features – allowing Jimothy to exhibit his authenticity throughout the duration of the lengthy album.

Of the project, Jimothy says: “The Safeway is very very special to me. It’s my baby, it’s something I’m extremely happy that I’ve given to the world. It’s a part of my life, it’s what my life’s about, what I do, what my aspirations are. I’m very proud of this, all of the production and writing is mine. The album is for everyone, for the whole world, for everyone who appreciates music – from young kids to pensioners.”
