It’s only been out for a few weeks but Joker is already on track to become the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time.
The Todd Phillips-directed film has currently grossed $737.5 million across the world, which is behind the current highest grossing R-rated film, Deadpool – which made $783 million globally.
Joker is expected to make over $900 million in its total global box office takings.
The film has already been smashing records, taking over Venom to become the biggest October opening ever.
Phillips has said he is open to direct a sequel for the film, with Joaquin Phoenix – who plays Joker – expressing his openness to play the character again.
Given the current success of Joker, a follow-up film would be definitely be a no-brainer!
