Kanye West is running for President

Kanye West has announced his run for President of the United States.

As Independence Day drew to a close, the Chicago hailing rapper announced the news on Twitter.

He said, “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States ! #2020VISION”.


It is not clear if Kanye has filed the necessary paperwork to facilitate his political aspirations but there is still time to do so in many states.

Currently, the front runners in the presidential campaign are Donald Trump for the Republican Party and Joe Biden of the Democrats. 

Billionaire Elon Musk endorsed Kanye’s campaign via Twitter, suggesting that if the news is true, Kanye will have no problem seeking financing from rich donors.

Kanye has teased a presidential campaign before, the rapper previously said that he would make himself a candidate in the 2024 election, writing, “Only after 2024. Let’s stop worrying about the future. All we really have is today. We just have today.”

2020 has been extremely busy for West with the rapper reaching billionaire status and signing an extensive deal with GAP to release Yeezy clothing to the masses. Read more about Kanye’s GAP/Yeezy deal here.
