Krept & Konan have announced the names for their “Freak Of The Week” remix, with dancehall legends Popcaan and Beenie Man set to feature.

The announcement came via the duo’s respective Twitter pages on Friday afternoon, culminating in both artists showing snippets of what is to come.

Krept shows his excitement upon revealing the artists for the remix.

Konan adopts a more relaxed approach on breaking the news.

With the original “Freak Of The Week” track appearing to use a sample from Beenie Man’s 1997 single “Who Am I (Sim Simma)”, it only makes sense that the 41-year-old will appear on the remix.

Such developments are likely to boost the Play Dirty duo’s image even further, in what has been a roller coaster journey since singing for Virgin EMI last year.

However, big name features are to be expected from the pair now, having secured the likes of Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, YG and Jeremih on their upcoming album ‘The Long Way Home’ – which is set for release on July 6th.

In a recent interview with ‘Not For The Radio‘ Krept & Konan explained the sheer coincidence and organic nature of their upcoming collaborations.

Whether or not this was the case with this latest link-up is yet to be known, but many will be hoping for more of the same in the future.
