Queen of UK funky Kyla has teamed up with Jamaican singer-songwriter Popcaan for a pop rendition of a new track entitled “You Ain’t Mine”.
It’s been a big couple years for Kyla, and for UK funky, which has seen the scene somewhat revitalised after Drakes sampling of Kyla on the track “One Dance” released on his Views album in April last year.
However on “You Ain’t Mine”, Kyla seamlessly makes the cross over from her more tradition roots of UK funky to the realm of pop, although it has to be said at points of the song the drums do carry a slight UK funky vibe.
You might also be surprised that this is not the first time she has worked with Popcaan for a track put together by Naughty Boy entitled “Should’ve been me”, which was released last year. You can check it out here on GRM.
