In some news that is bound to get your inner-child fully gassed, ‘Space Jam’ is getting a sequel- starring none other than Lebron James.

Almost 4 years ago, Lebron generated some buzz around the idea when he was asked his thoughts on the much-loved basketball movie. His response, “Wish I could do Space Jam 2” inevitably got the internet crackin’.

But soon after, sources close to the star denied the movie was in the works, and many a nineties’ kids sighed.

However, a couple of years later, and the story has now been confirmed by the Hollywood Reporter. The sequel will star Lebron and will be directed by Justin Lin, who also directed ‘Fast and Furious 6’. Lin is also working on the screenplay, alongside Andrew Dodge and Alfredo Botello.

The original ‘Space Jam’ starred Michael Jordan, amongst others. In the film the original Jumpman teamed up with Bugs Bunny’s Looney Tunes and Bill Murray in a basketball game against the Monstarz, who had annoyingly stolen the talent of the NBA’s best players. Long story short, with a little self-belief and a super-stretchy arm, MJ and the Tunes overcame the villains. MJ returned to basketball, yada yada. The movie also featured a banging soundtrack, including the legendary “I Believe I Can Fly” by R Kelly.
