A man has been held in Spain over an attempt to smuggle cocaine…under his wig.
It has been reported that police in Barcelona have arrested a Colombian man that tried to smuggle half a kilo of cocaine under his wig who had arrived from a flight coming from Bogota.
Officers claimed the man was extremely nervous when he was approached about the size and height of his wig. When asked to remove the wig, officers found a packet of 503g of coke glued to his head.
Spain is known to be one of the main European points of entry, particularly for Colombian cocaine. This incident is not the first time a wig has been used as a disguise for smugglers.
Spain is also the sixth biggest consumer of cocaine in the EU, coming close to the Netherlands, Denmark. France and Ireland.
