Marvel and Adidas have joined forces for the release of a new superhero-themed collection.

Marvel and Adidas have chosen American athletes and have designed a shoe linked to each individual that they believe highlights their athletic skill.

Called the Heroes Among Us collection, the new collection will make its debut at the NBA playoffs and will then be available for sale later this month.

On the new collection, Adidas said, “Basketball players, like Super Heroes, have alter-egos. Just as Super Heroes don masks, players don uniforms, and each athlete represents a different power and skill. These unique powers, once assembled, create an unstoppable force of good. With the world watching, these heroes take centre stage, placing their teams, their cities and their communities on their backs. Inspired by the Marvel Super Heroes that captivate fans both in the comics and on the big screen, Adidas has iconised some of basketball’s mightiest heroes”.

Damian Lillard who currently plays for the Portland Trail Blazers has been given a purple and black design inspired by Black Panther. James Harden will receive an Iron Man inspired shoe in a red and yellow colourway, John Wall has been likened to Captain American with the patriotic design of his shoe and Candace Parker to Captain Marvel with the blue, yellow and red colourway design of her shoe. The collection will also feature a shoe design inspired by Falcon from the Captain America films and Avengers Universe.
