Following an incident which resulted in the arrest of Tory Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion has spoken out to give her side of the story.
Yesterday (July 14), it was reported Megan had been taken to hospital with a foot injury after Tory Lanez was arrested on a gun charge and now Meg has taken to social media to confirm she suffered a gun shot wound, adding that she is “grateful to be alive”.
“The narrative that is being reported about Sunday’s morning events are inaccurate and I’d like to set the record straight,” Megan wrote in a statement on Instagram.
“On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me. I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.”
While her description of the events which occurred are still vague, she added that she is now focused on making a “full recovery” and is using the incident as a lesson to learn from.
“I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.
“I’m currently focused on my recovery, so I can return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible.” In the caption for the note, she added, “This whole experience was an eye opener and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy.”
According to TMZ, the incident took place in the early hours of Sunday (July 12) when Tory Lanez was arrested after police were called to an altercation involving gun shots outside a residence in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills.
Hours later, police stopped a vehicle which matched the description of the SUV and found Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion inside. Four shell casings were found and Tory was arrested with gun charges, while Megan was taken to hospital with foot injuries.
Tory Lanez was released on bail set at $35,000 and is due to appear in court on October 13.
