After being suspended earlier this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Premier League has now been scheduled to restart on June 17th.

The first two games to be played will be between Aston Villa and Sheffield United, and Manchester City and Arsenal on Wednesday 17th June with the first round of full fixtures taking place between 19th – 21st June.

The restart date has been discussed between Premier League clubs today (May 28), with them settling to resume in mid-June.

There are currently still 92 matches to be played before the season is complete.

Players and staff will be tested for coronavirus at least twice a week to ensure a safe environment for the league to return.

News of the Premier League’s return comes just over a week after teams decided to resume training.
