RIP Channel AKA/Channel U

After 15 long years of service, Channel AKA has sadly that they are finally stopping transmission, effective immediately.

The seminal station – which began life as the much-loved Channel U – became the go-to home for UK underground talent in the noughties, with a number of huge early grime and rap records starting their rise on the platform.

It became a home not just for the flashiest and the grittiest in the scene, but also the weird and wonderful, with many niche and cult classics still standing strong to this day.
