After the government’s announcement to close pubs, restaurants and social spots to avoid the spread of the coronavirus outbreak, we’ve come up with some fun things to do to keep you entertained in self-isolation.

1 – Host a Netflix party with your friends

Netflix and Chill knows no limits after the streaming service announced they would be offering an extension called ‘Netflix Party’, where you can stream the same shows as your friends at the same time, as if you were in the same room.

2 – Play an online pub quiz

Goose’s Quizzes, based in Scotland, has launched an online alternative to join in with their daily quizzes in a quarantine-friendly way, so you never have to miss out.

3 – Join FIFA 20’s online charity stream

Since football has been put on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some big names in the premiere league have teamed up to raise funds for those in need with ‘Combat Corona’.

4 – Revisit some old school grime beef

There’s nothing like an old-fashioned diss track to keep your spirits high during times like these. From Stormzy & Wiley to Chip & Yungen, you can go back and forth relearning the rhymes. Check out our round up of the five genre defining clashes right here.

5 – Learn a musical skill

If your friends have been getting at you to get in the studio, use this time to learn an instrument, pattern some beats, write some bars – you might have a popping SoundCloud by the time the virus passes.

6 – Play a drinking game on FaceTime

The power of the internet means your weekends don’t have to be all the way turned down in self-isolation.

Why not get at your day ones in a group FaceTime call and play a drinking game – for example, drink every time someone says ‘can you hear me?’ Or ‘Your WiFi isn’t working’ – it’s worth a shot.

7 – Pattern a bae

Leading up to hot girl summer, the tables have turned and it may as well be cuffing season with all these series to be watched and time to be spent indoors.

Just because we’re limiting outside contact doesn’t mean you can’t slide into someone’s DMs and bag a sweet one online. Try FaceTime dates and prolong your talking stage, it could work.
