Skepta will be the recipient of the 2019 Inspiration Award at this year’s Music Producers Guild Awards.
Sponsored by Audio Note, the award is given by the board of directors at MPG to recognise those who have produced a body of work which has inspired many others. In the past, the Award has been given to a number of legendary recording artists, including Nile Rodgers.
Speaking on Skepta’s influence, MPG’s Executive Director Bruno Ellingham said: “Skepta has been at the forefront of the grime scene for some time, his influence now crosses genres and is felt not only in music but in the art and fashion worlds too.
“Now feels like the perfect time to acknowledge his achievements and we are thrilled to be presenting him with this prestigious Award”.
The ceremony is due to take place on February 28th 2019 at Grosvenor House, Park Lane in London.
