Staff picks is back for another week, bringing you some of the hottest new tunes that we love, and know you will love too.

Sam Wise – Nemo

As the latest in a string of releases, is Sam Wise’s “Nemo”. With sweet sounding Zelda-like flute sounds coming in at intervals, the track has an eerie laid-back vibe. Sam Wise flows over the beat in an effortless style making subtle reference to the film Finding Nemo on the hook.

“When I heard the snippet to this at the start of “Afro Samuri” I was gassed, and even more so when I found out it was produced by Lauren Ralph” – Mike Spyrou (Writer) (@spizzgeta)

Stylo G & Fanatix – Touch Down Feat. Nicki Minaj & Vybz Kartel

Stylo G calls in Nicki Minaj and Vybz Kartel to jump already existing banger “Touch Down”. Giving us constant boasy vibes, both featuring artists lay down a fire verse. With a instrumental that isn’t typical of most up-beat dancehall tunes, this one uses violin tones making for a gritty sing-along track.

“The “Touchdown” remix is the perfect dancehall link up, Stylo G got a sick verse from Nicki Minaj who pays homage to her Caribbean roots and a verse from Vybz Kartel who the King of Dancehall is arguably and one of the most prolific artists to come out of Jamaica. The track is fire and can’t be faulted” – Naimah Archibald-Powell (Writer) (@naimahrebelle)

Miraa May – Sad

After being out of the game for a while, Miraa May made her musical comeback in the form of Care Package. “Sad” is straight off of the EP and have the first set of visuals we are seeing from the project. Sad is a raw song, where Miraa speaks of feelings that many can relate to. The video shows several beautiful scenes in the States but Tottenham song-bird is subsequently alone which goes well in line with the theme of the track. With sweet sounding vocals over an equally melodic beat, the track oozes chilled out vibes.

“I love a hype tune as much as the next person but it’s good to slow it down and get a little bit in your feelings once in a while. This one’s pure vibes.” – Shante Collier-McDermott (Writer) (@shancolls)

Conducta – Steezing Feat. Coco & J’Danna

In this upbeat, garage like tune Conducta calls in Coco & J’Danna to make for a top tier tune. With The verses are jam-packed of high energy bars and J’Danna coming in for a melodic hook, “Steezing”is successful being a fun track with the perfect video to match.

“The prince of garage Conducta has delivered another banger. This time we’re treated to the full version of a track fans first heard on his hugely successful mixtape Kiwi Cuts which dropped a few months prior. “Steezing” featuring frequent collaborator Coco didn’t make the cut on the spin off tape that fans decided the contents of via an Instagram post Golden Kiwi, I for one am glad this track wasn’t left dormant on Conducta’s hard drive. Definitely going to see some shapes cut when this comes on in the rave”- Seth P (Features Editor) (@Writersblog88)

Loski – Fire In The Booth (Part 2)

Charlie Sloth calls up Loski to smash the first instalment of the revamped FITB series via the DJ’s new solo show, allowing the Kennington-based artist to demonstrate progression and versatility since his first booth offering in 2017. The Harlem icon breaks three instrumentals, even providing some unexpected vocals on the final beat.

“Ultimately, this freestyle confirms that a new Fire In The Booth era has begun, free from previous constraints and censorship. It was only right that Charlie brought Loski through to bless the new Beats 1 studio.” –

TE Dness – Foolin’

West London rapper TE Dness is lyrical and rhythmic on this one. Staying honest and heartfelt throughout, “Foolin” is refreshingly raw and explores the battle of grinding and still trying to maintain day to day life. This pairs well with the beat, making for a nice but insightful listen.

“I’ve really been enjoying TE Dness’ latest project, it was really hard to pick my track of the week because every song on his latest EP Not Much Longer 2, is a vibe. However, “Foolin” has to be my standout track on the EP. The rapper manages to glide on the beat so effortlessly whilst serving innumerable flows. I definitely would love to see visuals for this” – Essence Madziwa (Writer) (@_essencex)
