The elusive west London producer Stimpy, known for his garage-infused grime productions, has released his debut EP Tropical. Stimpy had a hand in producing one of the most infamous grime instrumentals of all time, “Nutty Violins”, alongside fellow west Londoner, Scrufizzer (then going by the name Scruface).
The pair have still been putting out quality music since then, notably “Vibe on This” and “Dats Right” – instrumental mixes of both appear on the new EP. Sometimes showcasing standalone instrumentals isn’t enough, and on Tropical Stimpy has enlisted Derby based MC Eyez to vocal one of his wavey instrumentals, the track entitled “Champions” is certainly a standout feature on the EP.
