Stormzy has announced that he will be partnering with Cambridge University to fund two black students to enrol in 2018 and 2019.

The scheme will cover tuition fees and a maintenance grant for up to four years of study. He said, “It’s so important for black students, especially, to be aware that it can 100% be an option to attend a university of this calibre.

“We’re a minority, the playing ground isn’t level for us and it’s vital that all potential students are given the same opportunity.”

Cambridge University and other top tier unis around the country have often been criticised for not having enough BAME representation.

The Stormzy Scholarship is announced a year after he paid £9000 for a student to attend Harvard University in the US.
