In case you hadn’t noticed, Stormzy has been tearing up the world of late. In the last week we’ve seen the young star from the 7 take Austin’s SXSW Festival by storm, shut down a sold out headline show in Toronto and, just last night, the same again in New York City.

Back in January, we saw Stormz fly out to Japan with Adidas, where he (with the help of culture capturer Kaylum Dennis) filmed his #MERKY version of Ghetts’ and Rude Kid’s legendary “One Take“, which is now sitting comfortably on almost 3 MILLION views.
But what was London boy Stormz really doing with Adidas in Tokyo, Japan? No, he didn’t just go to shoot a “One Take” (although even if that was all he did, that is pretty fucking sick). In fact, Big Mike was there to link up with Japanese fashion don, Nigo, on a project for his Adidas Originals by NIGO SS16 collection.
Meeting up in Tokyo to shoot the official lookbook for NIGO®’s latest three-stripes collaborative range, this short documentary film accompanies the collection’s lookbook, covering the grime heavyweight’s trip as well as an exclusive live performance in the bustling Japanese capital – the perfect backdrop for the experiences of two of the most important names in contemporary culture.
Where do you know Stormz from? South London to the World. This is incredible.
