Swizz Beatz calls on Lil Wayne for his new offering, “Pistol On My Side”.

The producer responsible for DMX’s “Ruff Ryders Anthem”, Busta Rhymes’ “Touch It” and Drake’s “Fancy” returns with a piano and snare-heavy instrumental complete with adlibs from Swizz himself and DMX.

“Pistol On My Side” is a welcome release for Lil Wayne fans who have heard little from the rapper due to his lawsuit against his record label. Lil Wayne sued Birdman and Cash Money Records for $51 million for preventing the release of his highly-anticipated album Tha Carter V and withholding profits for Wayne’s record label Young Money which in its prime, housed a roster of artists including Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga and Mack Maine.

The back and forth between Weezy and Birdman took priority over the music and little was released from the New Orleans hailing hip-hop heavyweight. The lawsuit has now been settled and Lil Wayne recently told Billboard magazine that he is now the sole owner of the Young Money label.

“Pistol On My Side” gives fans a preview of what Lil Wayne in his new Cash Money-free era may sound like.
