With the year in it’s final moments, it’s time we take a little moment to reflect on what has been yet another landmark year for the scene. Although we were going to miss you with typical year-end lists, we still heavily believe in numbers. After all, numbers don’t lie. With that being said, check out our run down of the 10 biggest music videos of the year, where we play strictly the numbers game. No opinion, no bias, just facts. Reckon it was Skeppy who topped the list, with his reeling-in of international viewers? Could it have been Stormzy, who re-upped in 2015 with a Rated Award (and a couple others) under his belt. Our guy Griff has the answers for you below.

Honourable mentions:

Chip – Dickhead (1.7 million views)

Nines – Can’t Blame Me (2.4 million)

Section Boyz – Trapping Ain’t Dead (2.7 million)

Section Boyz – Lock Arff (3.7 million)

Lethal Bizzle – Fester Skank Remix (ft. Stormzy, Chip, Fuse ODG & Wretch 32) (3.9 million)

12. J Hus – Lean & Bop (3.9 million)

East London’s Husla Baby kicks off our 10, with his infectious debut single “Lean & Bop”. After locking off the streets with virals like “No Lie” and “Dem Boy Paigon”, J Hus asserted himself as a fully-fledged artist with this song. Make sure you get the dance on lock.

11. Yungen – Ain’t On Nuttin Remix (ft. Sneakbo, Stormzy, Bashy, Angel, Benny Banks, Ghetts & Cashtastic) (4 million)

Yungen started 2015 off with a bang, turning his collaborative single with Sneakbo “Ain’t On Nuttin” into one of the best posse cuts in recent memory. This one may have dropped at the top of the year, but we’re still thinking about it at the back end.

10. WSTRN – IN2 Remix (ft. Wretch 32, Chip & Geko) (4.5 million)

Chart conquerors WSTRN had one of the biggest records of the year, undoubtedly. Their mega-hit “IN2” spawned a remix more catered for our crowd, which was just as successful views-wise, with Wretch, Chip and Manchester’s Geko all sharing the spoils.

9. Stormzy – Know Me From (5.0 million)

While “Not That Deep” in 2014 marked the beginning of Stormzy’s unstoppable influence on the culture, it was this year’s single “Know Me From” that cemented him at the top of the game. With a video that had everyone talking and a tune that had everyone skanking, it’s no surprise to see this entry so high.

8. Bugzy Malone – Relegation Riddim (5 million)

Bugzy Malone made a statement in 2015, one that reverberated across the nation. An artist that represents hope for fellow MC’s across the country, as well as one that acts as a humble reminder for everyone in London: it’s not all about us.

7. Bugzy Malone – M.E.N. (5.2 million)

…And made such a statement that he’s taken TWO of the top spots for biggest video this year. Mad.

6. Skepta – Shutdown (11.1 million)

“Shutdown” was probably the most culturally impactful song of the year, within our world and outside of it. How many man did you hear yelling “TRUSS MI DADDY”? It’s almost a surprise at how low Skepta dips into our list, all things considered.

5. WSTRN – In2 (12.2 million)

After forming almost accidentally at the beginning of the year, these boys from west probably surprised even themselves with the heights reached this year. With the original “In2” video amassing over a million views before being replaced with this official video, which is on 12.2 million and still counting, the numbers speak for themselves.

4. Jme – Man Don’t Care (ft. Giggs) (13.7 million)

Pipping his brother to the next position is vegan man of the people, Jme, who had an earth-shatteringly successful year too, with the release of his ‘Integrity>’ album (and who could forget his hand in the popularity of Swegways?). Although there’s no taking away from Jme, THAT verse from Giggs probably had a little something to do with these huge numbers.

3. Lady Leshurr – Queens Speech 4 (15.3 million)

The dark horse of the year has to be Birmingham’s Lady Leshurr. The Brum war goddess dropped some punchlines so strong in her verses, that it unpredictably propelled her to viral fame across the world. What doors this has opened for her remain to be seen, but one thing is for certain: these views bang.

2. Stormzy – Shut Up (17.2 million)

Although his recent campaign for Christmas number one (which amazingly climbed Stormzy up to number 9 in the UK charts) has “Shut Up” fresh in our minds, the video actually dropped way back in May this year. Since then it has amassed nearly a whopping 17 million views, steadying itself as our second biggest video of the year, as well as Big Mikey’s second entry on the list.

1. Krept & Konan – Freak Of The Week (ft. Jeremih) (27.7 million)

Storming ahead of Stormzy with an additional 10 million views, is fellow 7 siders Krept and Konan, with their extremely successful single “Freak Of The Week”. With Jeremih on the hook and Mustard on the beat, the pair mashed up Jamaica, America and the UK into something we could all feel proud of and relate with. Big up all the 27 million freaks out there, who made this top our biggest music videos of the year!
