Welcome back to The Plug, your only definitive guide to the best music out of our scene, every single week. Last week we brought you newness from King Skepta, as well as New Gen leader J Hus, showing off what the veterans and the newcomers have to offer. This week is purely dedicated to the New Gen, with 7 of the sickest new releases coming from the youngers. GRM Daily is for the kids, after all. Check out the picks from our guy Griff below and peep the full playlist at the bottom.

Scrufizzer – Hold Up (Andre 3000 Energy)

West London donny Scrufizzer has been quiet recently, after releasing a handful of bangers during the year’s first half. This week however he was back on form, releasing a mad creative and mellow track which channels the energy of OutKast legend Andre 3000.

Scrufizzer – Usain Bolt

This is a first for The Plug: we’re kicking off this week with two picks from the same artist, back to back (Drake voice). We don’t usually do this, but Scrufizzer put in the work, with another track that’s a stark contrast to the last, but just as good. He reignites the Fizzy Flow over a bouncy bass instrumental, with some bars that ooze confidence.

Youngs Teflon – Netflix & Chill

Youngs Teflon channels the Internet’s favourite meme of the moment, for a suave new track titled “Netflix & Chill”. The beat is smooth and effortless, while Tef’s more laid back delivery sounds just as easy. Not to mention, the hook on this one is memorable too.

Jords – Late Night Talks

Another one for the late nights right here. Jords has some serious vibes in his growing catalogue, no less so than his latest effort “Late Night Talks”. Over a creamy R&B sample he drops bars on what’s on his mind, stream-of-consciousness style. Take this one in after a couple of listens and you’ll have a new favourite wave.

Hardy Caprio – Wifey Riddim

Get Rated award nominee Hardy Caprio has been dropping some serious freestyles lately, with the beginnings of a real buzz starting to happen around him. He goes in full story-telling mode on his most recent one, over Tinie Tempah’s iconic “Wifey Riddim” instrumental.

Geko – Remember You (ft. Moelogo)

Taking things up North for pick number six, we have a new track from Manchester rep and Chip’s pal Geko. With Moelogo helping out on hook duties, Geko gets introspective during the verses, dropping references to Of Mice and Men and Adam and Eve over some compressed drums, as well as getting experimental with melody.

Chris Loco – World We Live In (ft. Etta Bond, Avelino & Kojey Radical)

Chris Loco brings some grandiose, monumental production to the table on his latest release “World We Live In”. Rounding up Etta Bond for a strong chorus, Avelino for a dope rap verse and Kojey Radical for a powerful spoken word outro, this track has some serious creative pulling power.
