Welcome back to The Plug, your only definitive guide to the best music out of our scene, every single week. Last week, we brought you some brand new and manifold fire, whether it was wavey gyal songs from Proton or some street heat from Section and Skepta, we had it here. We’re straight back at it again this week and this is not a playlist you want to miss out on. Our guy Griff has rounded up the 7 hottest tunes from this last week, just for you, with an extended playlist at the bottom too. Check ‘em out below.

Don’t forget to peep last weeks playlist right here too.

Lancey Foux – In A Moment

East London artist Lancey Foux – who we described as a concoction of Young Thug and Killa Ki in his recent interview – has already released one strong project this year, the eccentrically brilliant ‘PINK’ EP. Despite that, he’s still gearing up to drop another tape, titled ‘Teen Skum’ and if this first taste is anything to go by, it’s going to be even better than the last.

Chip – Alone

Chip diddy fucking Chip. Does. Not. Run out of bars. Although his beef with Bugzy is one of the most drawn out in recent memory, with multiple sends coming from both camps, there is no denying it’s reignited the fire in Chip’s belly. With what is likely to be the last word (unless we see the pair face it out on LOTM), Chip drops something normal on “Alone”. Buka bye bye.

Avelino – Fire In The Booth

We usually reserve these spots for original music, but sometimes the bars are just too hard to ignore. Going in over two crazy instrumentals, including Dr Dre’s recent banger “Medicine Man”, Tottenham’s Avelino lets go of punchline after punchline in this 5 minute lyrical onslaught.

Capo Lee – Jumpman

One of the emerging new wave of real, essentially grimey artists is Capo Lee. Proving his weight as an MC with this hard as f*ck freestyle, he “liffs” the lid on the popular Drake and Future instrumental “Jumpman”. This boy is up to something and we can’t wait to hear more.

R.S. – Fire In The Booth

Lithen. We already made the excepthion for Avelino’s FITB, but R.S. cannot be ignored. Taking on inthtrumentals from Giggth, Daft Punk and Adele, he drops conthtant knowledge and leth us know some clathic stories from his writing sethions with Chip. He even takes a couple of subliminals at Stormzy…

AJ Tracey – Selenki

Just like Capo Lee, AJ Tracey is another younger representing for real and authentic grime music. His latest single “Selenki” is full of fundamentally London flows and slang, backed up by some explosive and skippy production. Keep an eye on the guy from the lane.

Joe James – Soul Brother

Keeping up with the theme of youngsters representing is the exciting Joe James. He flows over a sick Zeph Ellis instrumental in his latest offering ‘Soul Brother’
