Feel like you’ve lost the sauce when it comes to knowing the freshest new music out? Embarrassed when your boys are talking about that new Stormzy drop and you’re just stood there bait faced with no idea what they’re talking about? Need to be charged up when it comes to the latest info?

Worry no more. GRM and our guy Griff really are The Plug, with the 5 hottest tunes this week right here, as well as an extended playlist for your listening pleasure too. Plug in. Charge up.

Cadet – “Stereotype”

A rapper’s rapper, Cadet is constantly upping his lyricism game. His latest release “Stereotype” is no different, as his bars discuss the negative stereotypes surrounding young black men. This is some deep stuff, but the music quality still isn’t lost in the message. This ain’t your typical release.

Jorja Smith – Blue Lights

Jorja Smith is a brand new artist who we can’t ignore. With a voice full of soul and an amazing pen game, she’s certainly one to watch out for throughout 2016. Her debut single “Blue Lights” has her dodging the flashing blue lights, her songwriting the real focal point of track, elevated by some head-bumping production. The scratched Dizzee Rascal sample is too dope too.

TE dness – Repping

This week North West’s TE dness released his brand new mixtape ‘Not Much Longer’ and it’s safe to say it’s very sick. One of the project’s stand outs has to be “Repping”, a track which lyrically incorporates some of the scene’s most memorable tracks from Jme, Bonkaz, Stormzy and more.

808INK – DSSY

Rap collective 808INK have started to really create a buzz around themselves since the release of last year’s ‘Billy’s Home’ LP, with their stark visuals and creative music pushing the boundaries of what a UK rap act looks and sounds like. Their latest effort ‘DSSY’ keeps to the unpredictable formula, a dark and uneasy track that goes all the way in.

DanielOG – They Never Knew

Last year, Neverland Clan’s DanielOG released the very slept on ‘Art Attack’ mixtape, which was packed full of unorthodox and alternate raps. In the time since, he received that valuable Skepta cosign on Twitter and more eyes are going to be focussed on the East London artist. As such, he’s dropped a brand new release called “They Never Knew”. The tune is still pretty alternative but has a distinctly grimy edge to the self-produced instrumental, something that Daniel has dubbed “Nugrime”.
