Top Boy has won a BAFTA Television Craft Award for Scripted Casting.

Des Hamilton took home the prestigious prize which recognises exceptional casting in television.

Des Hamilton has also worked on casting for JoJo Rabbit, The King and Ordinary Love.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the award show took place as a digital ceremony and this year marked the first that casting directors were recognised for their contributions to television and cinema.

Top Boy beat intense competition from Sex Education, Chernobyl and Giri/Haji and the honour is of course well deserved.

Starring Ashley Walters, Kano, Micheal Ward, Little Simz and Jasmine Jobson, the chemistry between the actors on screen and their devotion to their roles was undeniable. The acting and casting across the board received critical acclaim and many are looking forward to seeing how the characters will continue to develop in season 4 of the series.

A reunion picture was posted to social media earlier in the month and fans of the series went into a frenzy as they took their anticipation for new episodes of the series up a notch.
