As Tory Lanez drops Chixtape 5, he’s called on the likes of Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Ashanti and more for his 2000s-inspired project.

Speaking on the album, Lanez explained that he’s taking things back to the noughties as he takes inspiration from “the times when things were golden for us.” He went on to say: “I think all those pieces and everything that we’ve come out with has been all about nostalgia. I’m about to take you on a whole journey musically.” It’s safe to say he’s just done that.

For his first feature, he calls on T-Pain for “Jerry Sprunger” which remixes the 2005 hit “I’m Sprung” before teaming up with Chris Brown for a remake of “Take You Down.” As he puts his own spin on some of the music he grew up on, Lanez takes the opportunity to flaunt his vocal skills as he goes in alongside some of R&B’s finest for the impressive album.

With The-Dream, Ludacris, Jermaine Durpi and Slim amongst the other OG’s blessing the project, this is a step back in time from start to finish.
