UK hip-hop artist Ty has sadly passed away after contracting coronavirus.
News of Ty’s passing was confirmed by his press team earlier today (May 7).
The rapper has contributed massively to the UK hip-hop scene over the years with his intricate lyricism and distinct cadence, releasing several projects such as Heart Is Breaking and the Kick, Snare & An Idea trilogy. His 2003 album Upwards was well-received following its release and was nominated for the 2004 Mercury Prize.
Ty was also one third of the Kingdem group alongside Rodney P and Blak Twang, who delivered a legendary Fire in the Booth freestyle last year.
Many of Ty’s peers have taken to social media to pay their respects to the late rapper.
